The juxtaposition of Kirei Board accents and horizontal grain Bamboo surfaces produces the warm look the Client desired: Kirei Board accents are found under top cabinets, soffits and prominently on both island and peninsula. The peninsula also has end-grain parquet bamboo countertop complementing the open, lit space. Finishing the look is the dark counter – a slab of reclaimed concrete. This Green Built kitchen (the frameless construction of plywood cabinets is formaldehyde free, low-VOC & waterborne finish) has plenty of accessible storage solutions by Blum – stainless steel drawers, pullouts and hardware.
