This modular kitchen was conceived by designer Jeffery Oh to transform a single person’s breakfast nook into a dining room capable of serving eight guests. To that end, the Natural Edge English Walnut table, usually stored half-way inside the round island (to minimize its presence in a small footprint space), can swivel at 100-degree radius and enlarge by an extendable drop leaf configuration. The kitchen includes various configurations for seating: high chairs at the bar, bench at the breakfast nook, chairs at the dinner table. The island was built around an existing vent and has 270 degrees of accessible storage. An array of pullouts was designed to create a pantry with maximized storage capabilities. The look was achieved by combining Birds-Eye Maple veneer with a black granite countertop, topped by a lowered brass ceiling with an LED lighting rim.
